My project entails programming techniques with which I am unfamiliar. To facilitate completion of the user interface, I spent last week looking at the Sun Microsystems Java Tutorials; I plan to make my first application and applet in Java later this week. The website php.net contains an introductory tutorial about PHP, which I may use to interface with MySQL databases of stock data, and its relation to HTML. Upon completing the tutorial, which I expect to do next week, I will find more information on my specific needs in the manual on the website.
Nicholas Shelly, who will be testing various stock strategies in his component of the project, and I have been casually observing the stock market during the recent declines in the major indices. We are in the process of determining which of the leading strategies is best weathering this dramatic storm, paying special attention to other economic indicators.
Much of my time in the past few weeks has been devoted to creating my website. It is currently near completion, with only the Assignments section remaining. I am interested in improving the features of my website once my project is sufficiently progressing.
