DATAKEEPER - ITERATION PROGRESS REPORT #4

By Laura Strickman

Plan I am now familiar with PHP and MySQL, and I've created Datakeeper v. 1.0. I am now writing Datakeeper's various features and by the end of the iteration, I hope to have DKv2.0 up and running.
Design DKv2.0 should allow you to create a new account, log in, view your data, edit your data, and send a form. So far, you can create a new account, log in, and send a form. It should also be "pretty"- i.e., in a nice format, with a tasteful background and graphics and an easily navigatable interface.
Coding The test programs on my test page continue to grow, now encompassing various features of DKv1.0. I'm coding in PHP and MySQL entirely now. I plan on learning how to pass information from page to page so that the user doesn't have to log in again every time he or she wants to use a different feature of Datakeeper.
Testing Now that I have a working version of Datakeeper, testing is fairly straightforward: I invent a fictitious student, create her a new account, enter all her information, log her on using her name and password, and have her email forms out to addresses that I can check. All of this is working successfully.
Possible "Deployment" DKv2.0 will be even more deployable than v1.0, with its pretty interface and continued login.
Users I've been conjoling my friends (who are high school students, my primary user group) to make fake students and email their fake teachers forms, asking them for any potential improvements.
