About Dr. Heater

Dr. Heeter is a Director of the Comm Tech Lab (http://commtechlab.msu.edu/), Creative Director of Virtual University (http://vu.msu.edu/), and a Professor of Telecommunication at Michigan State University. She lives and works from her home in San Francisco. In a short sketch about herself she says: "Posing as an inventor, artist and researcher, I explore the potential of emerging communication technologies to create new kinds of experiences. Particular domains of experience I care most about include enhancements of learning, personal relationships, and creativity." She was a Winner of the 1995 Discover Magazine Software Innovation of the Year award.

More About Dr. Heater's Presentation

  1. Dr Carrie Heeter will first give 15 min presentation. She will send us rich media content with Flash and audio, which we will distribute to all schools on CD. On the day this will be played on each site as the quality of transmitted video/audio would not be good to view this remotely.
  2. we will have Q&A session and the topics will be children's garden and "space pioneers" that Dr. Heeter is currently working on.

    Our task is to familiarize ourselves with the solutions and/or descriptions offered in the web sites. On the day we will take part in discussions where we will suggest extensions of this or similar work, or combining it with some other systems that we know of.
